There are several volunteer opportunities available for senior women in assisted living communities and retirement community settings. Some of these volunteer options are available directly through the community itself while others are available near the community or with senior activities located within the nearby cities. Regardless of the type of volunteer opportunity you would like to take part in there is certain to be an option that will fit your needs. Here are a few of the most common volunteer opportunities for senior women.
Friends of the Library


There is a 95% certainty that your local library will have a volunteer opportunity through the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library Is an Organization That Holds Different Fundraising Opportunities for the Library, Reading Endeavors and Holds Several Literacy Program Options within the Community. As a Senior You may find options to help your fellow seniors with various reading programs. You may also find opportunities to help young women in the community achieve their goals. In fact, there have been Friends of the Library organizations who have offered volunteer opportunities to senior women who has an extensive background in business and you can offer their insights to young businesswomen within the community.
Art Council


The art councils of major cities are always pleased to accept new volunteers for their upcoming art exhibits, art education and art programs within the community. As a senior female there may be several opportunities available to you with in the community through the Art Council. In fact, many seniors have found the option of bringing art counsel programs to their retirement and assisted living communities. These programs have been enriching and have offered several options for seniors within the community that may not have already been available.
Senior Center


The senior center with in assisted living community or retirement community may need some changes or to receive a fresh idea from incoming seniors. The face of senior living is changing up with the influx of baby boomers into their retirement years and as such into their retirement communities.
