Keys to Staying Healthy and Feeling Young

Exercise
One of the keys to having a long and healthy life can be summed up in two words: exercise often. Most doctors advise everyone to engage in some kind of physical activity for at least 15 – 30 minutes a day to maintain an optimal cardio health. Two of the best forms of exercise are strength training and aerobic workouts. Aerobic exercises such as swimming and running increase blood circulation to the heart while engaging your cardio-vascular system. Strength training is also a great way to stay in shape as it helps to build and maintain muscle mass. Studies have shown that exercising daily can reduce the risk of a premature death by 25%.

Proper Dieting
Another way to keep yourself looking and feeling young is to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet. Make sure that you eat foods from every food group with a balanced assortment of vitamins. Some underrated healthy foods to eat are walnuts, avocados, beans, green vegetables, and berries. Great beverages for staying healthy include red wine and, of course, water. You should drink anywhere between six to eight glasses of water every day.

Reducing Stress
Life can be very stressful at times, however too much stress can be very detrimental to your health. Make a concerted effort to reduce your anxiety and stress levels as much as possible. Always remember that few things are worth the aggravation that we attach to them.

Getting Enough Sleep
One of the most overlooked aspects of staying healthy is to get adequate rest. Most doctors recommend seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Studies have found a direct correlation between a lack of sleep and high cholesterol levels and blood pressure. These effects put you at a greater risk of heart disease. Make sure that you make time in your busy schedule to get proper rest. It’s worth it.

  1. Based on my own opinion, its really great to know the keys to stay healthy and feel young. I think that it would be great to know the ways on how to keep yourself healthy. I think that many Seniors would love this information and I think that they would follow those important keys. I know that being Senior shouldn’t hinder them to become healthy and feel young.

  2. I think that many people would love to know the keys to stay healthy and feel young. I know that being healthy and feeling young is not easy to achieve. It seems that it would require some effort and motivation to achieve your goal. I think that being a Senior does not mean that you can’t stay healthy and feel young. I think that you can stay healthy and feel young even if you are already old.
